ABOUT SMARANDA
Following a Masters at the London School of Economics, Smaranda went on to specialise in Interior Design - a long-time passion - and never looked back. Before setting up Atelier Rad. she worked at two acclaimed design studios in London, taking multiple residential projects from inception to completion.
Founded in 2016, Atelier Rad. was initially based in London and then moved to Milan for a few years, finally settling in Rome. Throughout this period, Smaranda and her team have worked on an extensive array of exciting projects - both full-scale architectural renovations and complete interior design schemes - in Italy, Spain and the UK.
Smaranda draws inspiration from each building's context and history to create new, seamless yet engaging spaces while preserving the original architectural essence of each interior.
Passionate about art, Smaranda is constantly in search of ways to foster a dynamic interplay between past and present by bringing together local materials, celebrating craftsmanship and incorporating both antique and contemporary furnishings and artworks. This approach ensures that each project is unique and tailored to each clients’ needs, resulting in a measured and refined eclecticism.

At the heart of Atelier Rad.’s design aesthetic are organic materials, clean lines and warm palettes combined with bespoke craftmanship and considerate detailing.
